Massage – Tara Gustafson
(Retreats)Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki Master: I began working with people 6 months after my daughter was born. I worked in the nursing field in long-term care/rehabilitation settings. Even though I loved it, I found it was not enough – I wanted to help people heal. So, in 2006, I received my first Reiki certification and began a healing journey that still continues today.
In 2007, my little girl’s father committed suicide. Months later I became so ill I could barely function (chronic pneumonia/bronchitis/etc) and the doctors’ could not help me. I turned to holistic health (Reiki, aromatherapy, massage, counseling), and after 4 months of continual illness – I was cured. Total time with holistic healing . . . 2 weeks! I decided right then and there that this was what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I had to share this!
I have since become a Reiki Master Teacher and received my massage therapy license. Now I practice the healing work that helped me so much and do my best to help others heal as well. I approach my clients with treatments that encompass body and mind together to address the whole person – not just the body.
Soon I hope to further my knowledge by attending school for holistic counseling and aromatherapy. I truly feel blessed and grateful to have been given this path – and to work with such a wonderful wellness center. Thank you Hope Floats!
